The mountain is a boon to the entire nature; it is the home of the River Ganga and Yamuna. All the rivers flowing begins from the heights of the glaciers. Himalaya Mountains increases by 2 inches each year irrespective of as much of the glaciers melts through the year.

Why the glaciers are growing?

Melting of glaciers should lead to shedding of the ices and the mountains should reduce. But the gigantic mountains are standing for centuries. The formation of the Himalaya ranges and the Tibetan Plateau is due to the massive collision of the Indian Plate and Eurasian plate. It was about 50 million years ago which separated India by the Huge Himalayan Mountain range. It separates not only as of the country but also divides the continent of Asia.

The Eurasian Plate is now above the Indian plates due to the collision. Now the crust has led to thickening of the continental crust which occurred due to the crumpling and folding. The existence of the compressional forces is still developing the thickness of the crusts below.

The thickening is resulting in the increase or swelling of the Himalayas range and the Tibetan plateau each year pushing is up. This is the reason the despite of melting of the ices of the glaciers the Himalayas is visible to the eyes from the ancient times.

Ancient books, sacred and religious books mention the stretches of the snow. This is the home of the Hindu Gods, where Lord Shiva has spent his life meditating like a yogi.

Several sages meditate years after years for enlightenment. The mountain is present for millions of years instead of eroding it is increasing to 2 inches and more.

Tethys Ocean and the Himalayas mountains

The Tethys Ocean was present during the time of the Mesozic era. Now that we can see the Indian ocean and the Atlantic ocean that is present today was just a new evolution during the era. We can see the Alps standing high was the north of Tethys Ocean. But with the formation of the Himalayas, the existence of the ancient ocean disappeared.

For about 400 million years the Paleo Tethys Ocean was present between the Gondwana and the Hunnic terranes which separated from Asia.

Effect of Ozone Layer and Himalaya Mountains

Pollution and the ozone layers have been the main issues that were affecting the mountain ranges with glaciers. Cutting of trees, air and water pollutions to the severe effects of ozone are creating problems and damaging the glaciers to melt. But according to recent studies of the Himalayan mountains are not much affected by pollutions as the height of the ranges are increasing.

For ages, the river water is flowing and it still continues to shower its blessings to the earth. The melting of glaciers is taking place on one side while the thickening of the crusts is increasing the height. Not only once but each and every year.
