It was a fine morning in the life of Bhai Salman Khan, when he was just planning the course to wind up the year 2015 and enter 2016 with a bang!

Suddenly his mobile rang and he looked up at the screen. The name flashing on it was “Salman Khan”!

He made a little face and answered the call with his signature “Hello”, in an authoritative voice. On the other side was the the Salman Khan from 1990s, son of script writer Salim Khan, a fresh young chap with infinite dreams in his eyes, aspiring to make it big on the B Town.

Here’s how the conversation happened between the two Salmans.

Salman 1990s:

Hello, this is your past! A different Salman than you! How are you?

Salman 2015:

Oh wow, how come you remember me after so many years?

Salman 1990s (in his usual attitude):

Oh, I don’t have to remember anybody; it’s rather you who should be remembering me for your own good!

Salman 2015 (giving back in same attitude):

Really? And why do you think so?

Salman 1990s:

Well, only if you would recall me, that is yourself, the way you were all those years back, would you realize that you’re only half way of where you could have been!

Salman 2015:

If I remember correctly, I never sounded so confusing back then!

Salman 1990s:

Neither were you this brattish and arrogant as well back then!

Salman 2015:

What do you mean?

Salman 1990s:

Pretty simple! You used to be this naïve, innocent and simple guy trying hard to be somebody by proving your mettle with your movie Maine Pyar Kiya! And now you’re this huge megastar with movies like Dabangg and Dabangg 2 and Wanted and Ready! Someone who comes across as arrogant and who doesn’t try hard at all at anything except in remaining inside his safety-cocoon!

Salman 2015:

Of course not! I think you’re living in the last and not realizing my true present! My movies make shit loads of money that means my fans are happy. I have a Being Human charitable foundation that caters to the needy. I give breaks to so many wannabes! Where am I going wrong?

Salman 1990s:

Did you conveniently forget the car accident? The long drawn court battle, which is still not over and that has given enough fodder to everyone to last a lifetime about you using your clout, star/money power and all possible tactics to stay out of jail? Or the Black Buck hunting? Or the girls you hurt during all those love affairs?

Salman 2015:

Hmmmm

Salman 1990s:

You’re a role model for millions out there and with that kind of status, comes huge responsibilities! The youth of today looks up to you and wants you to live and behave like a real hero, not just a reel-life hero! People love you despite your shortcomings and weaknesses! Who can command such unconditional love and loyalty?

Salman 2015:

I get what you’re saying!

Salman 1990s:

So why not work on ironing out the crease and making a fresh beginning? The timing is also right, it’s new year’s eve! New beginning can’t be made anytime better than now!

Salman 2015:

Guess you’re right dude!

Salman 1990s:

How can I be wrong? It was me that reached your stage! Just fumbled a bit on the way and didn’t realize my full potential. Want you to do a course correction bro!

Salman 2015:

Done deal! (and suddenly looking surprised as the call gets disconnected) Hello! Hello? You there bro? Hello?

With a huge grin on his face, Salman of 2015 keeps his phone aside.
