It managed to grab people’s attention and many liked the story and all the songs too. John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan’s chemistry was interesting and FUN. Even Priyanka Chopra played her character very well. Just imagine what IF Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was playing PeeCee’s Dostana character? Plus, what IF the actors included were Saif Ali Khan and Abhishek Bachchan? BEFORE you start thinking that I lost my mind, let me tell you why I am saying this.

In reality, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was indeed asked to be the lead actress in Dostana by Karan Johar. And John Abraham’s character was meant to be played by Saif Ali Khan. But it didn’t worked out. Why, you ask?

In an interview, Aishwarya Rai was asked about why she decided to NOT do the movie, here’s what she said “Through the years, we kept discussing subjects and we thought we will work on Dostana together. Then I got married. Saif was there in the film initially but after our marriage, he was like, ‘Abhishek and Aishwarya will be together in the film. So it won’t look right’. That’s how the vibe was becoming around the film but I was like, ‘The role is of the two guys’. Since that was the kind of discussion and feeling going around with the casting, I decided to step out of Dostana,” she revealed. But eventually Saif too copped out. “Then, it was John and Abhishek with PC who eventually did the film. Saif himself opted out. Somewhere, things did not fall in place for both me and Karan.”

Okay, so now we know the reason.

Aishwarya Rai Rejected Dostana – Undoubtedly, it would’ve been interesting to watch Aishwarya Rai Bachchan but PeeCee nailed it. She really, really did, agree?
