This movie Lipstick under my Burkha has been garnishing attention of everyone since long thanks to social media and celebs that stood up for the movie showing their lipsticks with middle fingers. Anyway this is one of such movies for which we waited long didn’t we?

Story: This movie depicts story of 4 ordinary women, who   get into cheating, stealing, lies, etc due to rigid society norms. They lead a secret life which they deserve, but aren’t allowed thanks to the society!

Review: These 4 women face hell of consequences for their rebellions. Director smartly uses Diwali as backdrop to tell lives of these women, might go in flames but they go out with a bang.

There is something scandalous about these women’s lives in fact the doors are opened and shows what is behind the closed doors of Muslim girl’s room, where she listen to music dances. What’s behind closed doors of couple’s bedroom where women are victim to her hubby’s libido? Behind the closed doors of a women’s beauty salon where intimate advices are given easily as when waxing is done. Behind doors of an elderly women’s bathroom where she opens tap fully and moans out her desires.

These characters make us think why are women second class citizen at their own home. Usha’s passion filled role will make you look, at elderly women in a new way. These women give lipstick its true color.

Movies like Lipstick under my Burkha will definitely bring a change in society for women if not a major change eventually it might push and smudge boundary lines for sure. We loved the way the story is told the artists acted and way it is directed.
