Anti-microbial reusable masks are launched by Nanosafe Solutions, an IIT- Startup company. The initiative is taken to reduce the crisis of PPE equipment, has the property of bacterial filtration efficiency. The fabric used for the preparation of a mask can resist the penetration of the bacteria, which can fulfill some margin of mask crisis. The onset of the pandemic has led to an increase in the demand for masks to protect the large mass of the population from the attack of COVID -19. 

Mainly this is contrived to meet up the costs, affordable face reusable masks, that can take the round of laundry 50 times. The masks washing several times enables us to use it, again and again, makes it less expensive compared to other masks. The anti-bacterial mask and washable property have made it one of the matchless creations. 

Reuseable Masks with 3-micron antibacterial efficiency

New reusable masks that are an effort to produce a successful production the Nsafe mask ensures the bacterial filtration efficiency to 99.2 percent which is equal to 3 microns. Most of the masks for common people demand a breathable, these masks conform to the ASTM standards. The company ensures the mask to be comfortable and breathable.

CEO & Founder of the company, IIT Delhi alumnus Dr. Anasuya Roy and Professor Magolia Joshi, from the department of textile and fiber engineering, IIT Delhi. According to them, this mask is the first reusable mask in India with antibacterial filtration. 

Three Layered filtered masks 

The efficiency of the masks can be assumed undeniably, three layers that contain the antimicrobial filtration mid-layer, the outer layer has the oil-repellent and water properties and the inner layer consists of the hydrophilic layer for comfort. 

• The hydrophilic layer of the masks enables to stop the droplets to be absorbed by the outer layer. So, when a person coughing or sneezing it will be absorbed by the hydrophilic or inner layer while the person sneezes. This will stop the Covid-19 carrier to spread further, the fabric properties can be compared to simple fabric that we use is of so-called ‘Gamcha’, that we Indians use to dry cloth acts like a towel after taking shower. 
• The outer layer is also known as a hydrophobic layer that resists water or oil from entering inside the inner layer. It is the polypropylene layer that absorbs the droplets outside and does not allows the water to enter inside. 
• The middle layer of the reusable masks is always awaken, that stops the droplets at the layer itself. Similarly, the external surface of the masks absorbs the droplets but the mid-layer which acts as an anti-microbial filtration layer. 

Covid-19 positive cases are increasing, in order to control the rapid widespread of the disease few initial guidelines and protective measures are necessary. After the withdrawal of the Lockdown, India has high chances to see a steep rise in positive cases. Affordable and reusable masks including effective sanitary implementation and social distancing can control the spread. Responsibility of the citizen increases to maintain the guidelines to be provided by the government of India and the Healthcare department.
