<p>Hindi movies are being remade into hit daily soaps!</p>
<p>English and Hindi movies are mixed to make some new daily soaps to cater to the needs of ever-growing appetite of Indian audiences. Then why aren’t the old classic shows being remade so that GenX can enjoy some gems from the past?</p>
<p>We present you some of the old popular tv shows from the 90’s which are evergreen and can really be remade in a contemporary fashion to serve befitting entertainment to the youth of today! We would love to watch them for sure!</p>
<p><strong>1)<em> Hum Paanch</em></strong></p>
<p>This hilarious comedy from the stable of <strong>Balaji Telefilms</strong> in 90’s is something which had a universal flavour. A dysfunctional family of a couple with five daughters who are truly unique can just be the right kind of entertainment for today’s youth when women empowerment is the theme on everyone’s lips! And yes, it also had <strong>Vidya Balan</strong> making her debut so maybe she can return to TV with this one!</p>
<div id="attachment_27081" style="width: 510px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/hum-panch.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img aria-describedby="caption-attachment-27081" class="size-full wp-image-27081" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/hum-panch.jpg" alt="Hum Paanch" width="500" height="281" /></a><p id="caption-attachment-27081" class="wp-caption-text">Hum Paanch</p></div>
<p><strong>2)<em> Banegi Apni Baat</em></strong></p>
<p>College life is one of the best phases of anyone’s life and it can never go out of fashion! This hard hitting show about college life, politics, love and what not can really be served up to satiate the taste buds of GenX! For older generation it can be great nostalgia and for youth, some rock &#8216;n&#8217; roll entertainment. For those who don’t know, ace actor <strong>Irfan Khan</strong> made his debut with this show as a father of the lead character and now he himself plays a lead actor in Hindi movies! What a journey, phew!</p>
<div id="attachment_27082" style="width: 510px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/banegi-apni-baat.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img aria-describedby="caption-attachment-27082" class="size-full wp-image-27082" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/banegi-apni-baat.jpg" alt="Banegi Apni Baat" width="500" height="250" /></a><p id="caption-attachment-27082" class="wp-caption-text">Banegi Apni Baat</p></div>
<p><strong>3) <em>Dekh Bhai Dekh</em></strong></p>
<p>This crazy LOL kind of comedy isn’t made nowadays! The world got <strong>Shekhar Suman</strong> from this show and what <strong>Kapil Sharma</strong> is achieving these days in the comedy space, <strong><em>Dekh Bhai Dekh</em></strong> achieved this and much more almost 20 years ago! This crazy family has to be recreated for complete family entertainment!</p>
<div id="attachment_27083" style="width: 510px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/dekh-bhai-dekh.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img aria-describedby="caption-attachment-27083" class="size-full wp-image-27083" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/dekh-bhai-dekh.jpg" alt="Dekh Bhai Dekh" width="500" height="372" /></a><p id="caption-attachment-27083" class="wp-caption-text">Dekh Bhai Dekh</p></div>
<p><strong>4) Tara</strong></p>
<p>It was for the first time that on Indian Television, women were shown drinking, smoking and flirting, shedding all the inhibitions and leading a life they wished for! Tara was a pioneer of the sorts when it came to women&#8217;s independence and truly celebrated it with aplomb! Given the kind of regressive shows we have today, Tara can be like a breath of fresh air to depict the real face of women, to empower them and help them to get their right place in society! That&#8217;s what is needed today!</p>
<div id="attachment_27084" style="width: 510px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/tara.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img aria-describedby="caption-attachment-27084" class="size-full wp-image-27084" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/tara.jpg" alt="Tara" width="500" height="330" /></a><p id="caption-attachment-27084" class="wp-caption-text">Tara</p></div>
<p><strong>5) Zee Horror Show</strong></p>
<p>Okay, not everyone is interested in the horror genre, but then in those olden days, the show created ripples with entire families getting hooked on to it for some scary pleasure! Imagine the year when technology wasn’t that good so the ghosts were all fake masks and made-believe funny figures. Still, we loved them. What if today’s progressive technology is used to create such a show; it can undeniably create mass hysteria and enormous TRPs!</p>
<div id="attachment_27085" style="width: 510px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Zee_Horror_Show.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img aria-describedby="caption-attachment-27085" class="size-full wp-image-27085" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Zee_Horror_Show.jpg" alt="Zee Horror Show" width="500" height="297" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Zee_Horror_Show.jpg 500w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Zee_Horror_Show-250x150.jpg 250w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></a><p id="caption-attachment-27085" class="wp-caption-text">Zee Horror Show</p></div>
<p>Hope someone does try to put their moolah and efforts in such classic masterpieces to bring them back to life for today’s audience!</p>
<p>They would surely be smash hits!</p>

<p>One prominent example being actor <strong>Vivek Oberoi</strong> who had the guts to call a press conference more than a decade ago and complain about <strong>Salman Khan</strong>! At that time Vivek was an upcoming promising youngster who had a very bright future ahead of him, but it is alleged that one wrong move has cost him his career. Till today, despite profusely apologizing to <strong><em>Sallu bhai</em></strong> at various public and private occasions, Vivek is still considered an also ran in the race of ace actors!</p>
<div id="attachment_26993" style="width: 660px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Chetan-Hansraj.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img aria-describedby="caption-attachment-26993" class="size-full wp-image-26993" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Chetan-Hansraj.jpg" alt="Chetan Hansraj" width="650" height="503" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Chetan-Hansraj.jpg 650w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Chetan-Hansraj-517x400.jpg 517w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></a><p id="caption-attachment-26993" class="wp-caption-text">Chetan Hansraj</p></div>
<p>Now it is an experienced TV actor, <strong>Chetan Hansraj</strong> who has revolted against the biggest name in Hindi TV industry, none other than <strong>Ekta Kapoor</strong>! Okay, it is not against her personally, but against her production house <strong>Balaji Telefilms</strong> which produces the show <strong>Jodha Akbar</strong> which Chetan is, or rather was a part of. Unhappy with the way his role was shaping up over past couple of months, he just let the volcano of disappointment burst and that too in full public glare! Not only did he leave the shoot in between, he even spoke to the press about all the issues he had with the show and production house.</p>
<div id="attachment_26997" style="width: 660px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/chetan-hansraj-in-jodha-akbar.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img aria-describedby="caption-attachment-26997" class="size-full wp-image-26997" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/chetan-hansraj-in-jodha-akbar.jpg" alt="Chetan Hansraj in Jodha Akbar" width="650" height="544" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/chetan-hansraj-in-jodha-akbar.jpg 650w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/chetan-hansraj-in-jodha-akbar-478x400.jpg 478w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></a><p id="caption-attachment-26997" class="wp-caption-text">Chetan Hansraj in Jodha Akbar</p></div>
<p>In a way, it is really courageous for him to finally speak up about the wrongdoing done to an actor who is around for almost a decade and no matter how big the power centre is someone has to raise the voice. It should be noticed that such a move is an exception rather than the norm given that all such problems are discussed between the actors and production houses within the four walls of shooting sets or offices. In public, only the cordial happy faces are shown. Going by the way Chetan reacted, it seems he must have had to endure lots to let go of his bonding with the production house he built his career with, to go ahead and level allegations of not taking care of his role or promising him something, but not delivering on their word.</p>
<p>The important questions now are: How will <strong>Ekta Kapoor</strong> react?</p>
<div id="attachment_26999" style="width: 660px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ekta-kapoor1.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img aria-describedby="caption-attachment-26999" class="size-full wp-image-26999" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ekta-kapoor1.jpg" alt="Ekta Kapoor" width="650" height="459" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ekta-kapoor1.jpg 650w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ekta-kapoor1-566x400.jpg 566w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></a><p id="caption-attachment-26999" class="wp-caption-text">Ekta Kapoor</p></div>
<p>Would she even react or just let the controversy die its own sweet death? Or is this all actually a stunt by the team to increase the ratings and soon both the parties will bury the hatchet and hug and kiss?</p>
<p>We will have to wait and watch, but one thing is for sure, Chetan has taken one of the biggest steps of his career if he has genuinely vented out his ire. If this is all part of a planned PR strategy, good luck to them if it helps the show to rise the charts!</p>
