Make-Up Tips For Dusky Skin

Dusky women are perhaps the luckiest when it comes to make-up as most shades and colours look wonderful on them.

From daring oranges to subtle peaches, they can rock anything. Perhaps that’s why most ramp models are dusky and sexy! Here’s how you can work your complexion in your favour. Read onto find out how you can look smashing…

Colours to choose from:

You are blessed with a rich skin tone that will look brilliant against gold hues, metallic shades and dark browns and blacks. Even dark maroons, pinks and reds look wonderful on your cheeks and lips. You should stick to dark shades as they will [perfectly merge with your complexion without standing out like a sore thumb. Make sure that you go bold and all out and not let summer shades and runway tones ruin your make-up routine.

Foundation:

One of the things dusky women have to be extremely careful about is the foundation. It has to match your skin perfectly as over and under tones can completely ruin your look. Go for a patch test before picking out a foundation. Dark skin can make heavy make-up crackly and patchy, so work on your foundation with your fingers before merging them well on your skin. Always opt for a shade that matches your pigmentation the best. For example, if you have yellow pigmentation, don’t go for pink-based foundation. Go for gel-based foundation as cream ones can cake out.

Eye make-up:

Forget light tones when you can totally rock smoky eyes, copper and dark browns. What really looks enticing and smoking hot on dusky-skinned beauties is smoky eyes and black shadow. Go for bold colours that will flatter your eyes in the best possible way. Always go for black or dark brown kohl as your base as that will enhance your skin better than fancy greys, blues and purples. Give your lashes the twirl and volume by using extra-strong mascara as that will really make your eyes sing. The golden rule when working a dusky skin in to play up your eyes to their best as they are your windows to everything!

Lips:

Matt lipsticks are the best for your skin as they will complement your complexion well. Go for soft pinks, mild oranges and gold hues. If you really must go bold, try coppers, maroons, berry and plum shades. But it’s best to keep your eyes bold and lips rather nude as they can clash and make you look like an over made-up doll. Don’t forget to prime and balance out your lips if they are chipped, dark or dehydrated. Use a lip liner that’s a shade a shade lighter than your lips. Do not use gloss or gel on your lipstick as that can draw all the attention towards it.

Blusher:

This is where you can go for light tones. Use rose, berrys and metallic oranges for the day, while you should opt for corral, wine and chocolate browns for a stunning evening out. The best way to make your cheek bones stand out is by applying the blusher right in the middle of your check line and jaw line. This will give you high cheek bones that will look chiselled and well made-up. You could use a cream-based blusher if you want it to last longer, but make sure to merge it well as it can appear muddy on dusky skins.

So, all you dusky beauties out there, it’s time to get smokin hot!
