When looking back into the sports moment of India and the success of the last decade different areas have been captivating. Earlier, cricket was the only game that made India proud but it was in the last 10 years that a major change is distinguishable.

  • Golden time for tennis

Sania Mirza had given the golden moments during 2015 and 2016 when she played opposite Martina Hingis. She reached the US Open semifinals and at the age of 31 years old played for the Grand Slam title in 2017. She won the Khel Ratna Award for her contribution to tennis. Bopanna one of the best players in tennis won the doubles French Open trophy with Canada Gabriela Dabrowski.

  • Athletics Gold win 2019

At the age of 19, it is a valuable time for Indian Athletics when Hima das won five gold medals in one month. In 2019 her last win was a gold medal for running 400m and her first win was for 200m at the Poznan Athlete Grand Prix.

  • Boxing Sports Hikes, sports moment in India

Vijender Singh won the bronze medal in World Championship for boxing category from India. It was in the past decade that India has improved in boxing. Mary Kom, with excellence in amateur boxing, has given India several proud moments. She won five gold medals in Asian Women’s boxing championships in the last 10 years.

  • Wrestling at International Level

Sushil Kumar played at the Beijing Olympics in the year 2008 and won the bronze for India. Another proud sports moment was in 2012 when he won the silver medal for wrestling in London Olympics. It was a great achievement for Indian wrestling after independence.

  • Shooting Stars apart from Vijay Kumar

Shooting has become one of the popular games after Vijay Kumar won the London Olympics in 2012. Jitu Rai, who won the Gold in the Gold coast Commonwealth games and was honored with Khel Ratna award in 2016.

  • India wins after more than two decades in Srilanka

The sports moment sparkle recalling the victory of India in test cricket. India played against Srilanka in 2015 and won the third match by 117 runs in Colombo. It was a memorable moment for the Indian cricket team to return back with the trophy in hand. Cheteshwar Pujara grabbed the man of the match. Ravichandran Ashwin took the man of the series.

  • Snooker title at the IBSF

Indian sports have heightened bright with the World snooker title was won by Pankaj Advani and Aditya. They played as a duo against the team of Thailand at the IBSF world snooker team event in 2019.

  • Table Tennis in 2018

Harmeet Desai won the gold medal in table tennis in 2018 playing at the commonwealth games Australia. Another proud moment for the Indians after winning a number of medals in international sports, he won the Arjuna award.

Indian sports memories of the last decades are the most significant when they have gathered enormous fame to the country expanding in all sports criteria. Ten years have been the most progressive year for sports and players in the country.
