India’s Next Grandmaster-In-The-Making #ChakshuDhannawat

After the Master Blaster Maharashtra is soon going to provide India with this upcoming Grandmaster in the making.

Chakshu Dhannawat – 7th grader from Maharashtra showcases a promising name in the world of Chess. He has acclaimed recognition from both the National and International arena having being professionally trained from Champions Chess Academy, Mira Road.

This child prodigy is paving the way and seems like very soon India would boast about the brainy world of Chakshu Dhannawat.

He is an International FIDE rated player having current rating of 1301.

This young talent is rigorously participating in various National and International Chess Tournaments listed below:

  2. 7th Mayors Cup International Open Chess Tournament, June 2014 (Mumbai).

  7. 1st Maharashtra Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament for School Children, Matunga, December 2013 (Mumbai).
  8. Maharashtra State under13 boys and girls FIDE rating selection award tournament 2014 (Nagpur)

 Here is the list of Awards won by this little champion in Local Chess Tournaments:

  1. Ninth Place in Chess Tournament for under-12 boys organized by Ajmera I-Land Sports Academy, August 2013.
  2. Second Position in Anand Chess Festival for boys under-15, August  2013.
  3. Second Place in Chess Tournament for under-12 boys organized by Ajmera I-Land Sports Academy, December 2013.
  4. First Place in Champions Chess Tournament for boys under-15 organized by Champions Chess Academy, Mira Road.
  5. Eight Place at Khasdaar Chashak Bhuddibal Spardha (Open), March 2014 Mira Road.
  6. Tenth Place in Anand Chess Festival, April 2014 (Dahisar)

After all that is said and done, the genes are just one part of inherited intelligence, what changes the way a child’s future looks like is his upbringing. Parenting and mentoring the child in an offbeat sport is something Mr.Anup Dhannawat- Senior Chess Arbiter (International) FIDE and Mrs. Prachi Dhannawat stand a testimony to. 

Chakshu stood Second under-13 at Vadodara 1st Mineral chess tournament FIDE rated below 2200 at Vadodara Gujrat National Chess competition from Nov 1 to Nov 4, 2014.

Chakshu got two chess trophies – SBI Life Mumbai Schools Chess Challenge 2014, (Borivali west) Don Bosco School from 26th to 31 st October 2014. He represented school and got chess trophies – one for under-12 and the other for above 12 category.
