In this fast paced world, everybody is struggling to make their way to the top.

Everybody wants to reach the stars and shine as bright as they can. But in this struggle, many a times, people are held back because they do not have anyone to watch their back.

Just the feeling that someone is there to take care when we are not around or just to soothe us when we are stressed, is what makes one strive harder to reach their goals.

When we come back from work, we all long for comfort and peace at both physical as well as mental level and just a little push to drive us along the way.

Here are 8 things that you can offer to your partner if they are struggling in their career.

  1. Lend An Ear

We all have this urge to talk our hearts out and give our opinions, but to lend an ear to your partner, would mean a great deal to them after a stressful day. It would make them feel important and not judged. We might feel that we may solve their problem by giving our insights, but sometimes, keeping silent and just listening is all that your partner wants.

  1. Share the Load

The first and most important thing you can offer to your partner is to share their load. Sharing their responsibilities by offering to help in the house and the kitchen, taking the responsibility to drop and pick-up kids from school, going grocery shopping or may be doing the laundry. Help offered in any way will be appreciated and help your partner feel warm and loved.

  1. Make Peace with the Silence

Sometimes, all you want is some time to yourself. We understand that that when both of you come home after work, you may feel the need to spend some time together and discuss the happenings of the day, but if your partner wants to stay silent, maybe alone with themselves, then let them be. Give them their time and space and they will love you for understanding them.

When going through the stressed times at work, making them feel wanted will reassure your partner and fill him/her with fresh energy. Initiate intimacy and make way for some romance. This not only will serve as a stress buster, but will also lift your partner’s spirits. Men need sexual intimacy to reassure them in stressful situations and appreciate if their woman initiates it. Women too need to be comforted and handled with extra care and tenderness- maybe by just a simple hug or cuddling in the bed.

We all crave for being complimented for little things as it makes us happy and affirmed. Take every chance to point out the positive things in your partner. Compliment and appreciate every thoughtful act. By doing so, you will work on uplifting your partner’s confidence.

Before your partner comes home, tidy up the house. Avoid dirtying the place and leaving stuff here and there. Make sure your house smells good and there is no chaos or loud sound. Let your partner make your home a haven for them where they crave to return to after work.

Also, tidy up yourself before your partner comes home. Putting on fresh clothes and a touched up face with a warm smile will make all their worries melt.

A romantic dinner or a relaxing session at the spa, a movie or just their favourite show on television with their favourite food- a little fun is everybody’s right. Treat your partner and indulge in anything that makes him/her forget all the worries and have a good time so that they are charged-up for the struggle.

  1. Watch Your Spending

It would be very mindful if you watch your spending for a while. Avoid any large expenses or indulgences. Delay the discussions to bring in new furniture or clothes as this might just annoy them or burden them even more. Planning your expenses well and spending thoughtfully would make your partner appreciate your efforts and give them a feeling that they have someone to support them and who understands them well.

Being together in tough times is the actual test of love. It defines how strong your bond. Being partners for life is every couple’s relationship goal and supporting and watching each other’s back in turbulent times is the most important stepping stone to achieve that goal.
