Side effects of green tea – Green tea is the most famous drink in the healthy world.

It is the oldest herbal tea that is known to man. Green tea is very popular for its weight losing effects. Green tea is quite beneficiary to our health if it is taken in a moderate amount. Drinking more than 5 cups of green tea can be considered bad for our bodies.

Green tea also has caffeine in it and some people cannot handle too much of it.

1 – Stomach Problem

Green Tea can increase the acidity in the stomach as it contains tannins. So, avoid drinking green tea empty stomach. The best time to drink green tea would be the time between two meals. People who suffer from heavy acidity better avoid too many green teas in a day otherwise it can cause stomach ache, nausea, or constipation. So, to reduce this acidic content you can also add sugar and milk in your green tea and do not drink it too hot.

2 – Anemia

Green Tea might be fatal anemic people. Green tea reduces the absorption of iron from food, so drinking too many Green Teas can cause some serious damage to health. Green tea is also infamous for reducing the bioavailability of non-heme iron. Non-heme iron is the primary type of iron which is found in eggs, dairy and plant foods such as beans. To avoid this situation you can add lemon to your green tea. It will supply some Vitamin C to your body which can increase the absorption of Non-heme iron.

3 – Headaches and Sleeping problems

People who are repellent to caffeine, can suffer from some serious headaches due to over-consumption of green tea. As it is mentioned earlier green tea also has caffeine in it and having too much of caffeine is not healthy for our body. Caffeine can also cause sleeping problems because it blocks sleep-inducing chemicals in the brain and increases adrenaline production.

4 – Diabetes and High Blood Pressure

Green tea can also interfere with blood sugar control. It can be dangerous for diabetic patients. They should consult a doctor about drinking green tea. Similarly, it can also increase blood pressure, if it is taken more than prescribed.

These are side effects of green tea – With all these side effects of green tea, drinking too much of green tea can also cause vomiting, diarrhea, liver disease and osteoporosis.
