10 Things A Pen Can Do For Us, But We Use It Only For Writing!

A Pen is mightier than the sword! Agree?

Yes, we all do. This little weapon holds a lot of command if used in the correct sense.

And few of them have had the sensibilities to use its power in the constructive direction while many failed.

Nevertheless, coming back to the title of this story, we are here to talk about a few interesting ways, rather innovative ways that we have been using our pen for. Be it in good old school days, or today, when we land in some tricky situation, a pen does come to rescue, and a good one at that.

Let’s scroll through 10 of these, quickly:

  1. To tear open the cardboard boxes in the kitchen. I have done it many times. Have you?

  1. For excellent self-defence. Carry a pen in your hands if you are walking down a secluded road, keep a tight grip. If someone tries to attack you, the pen works as an excellent makeshift weapon for stabbing the hands/arms or neck of someone who has hold of you, especially effective when a person comes up to grab you around the neck from behind.

  1. You can use the tip of the nib of the pen to reset the minute buttons of electronic devices, where the fingertips are too large to work.

  1. The hollowed barrel of the pen is a beautiful tool for art projects. It can be used to blow out a spray of colours in your drawings or other creative objects, for textured layers of shading.

  1. While in school, my favourite game was to make pen blowpipes for mischievous games, where the bullets that we used were, chewed gum, or chewed paper. Trust me, when we blew those sticky gum balls into the heads of the ones we hated, it was the best revenge we could plot! They would sting like a deadly bee on the neck or ears, or stick to their hair, pretty nicely when those morons had their back to us. The key to this activity was denial, denial, denial!!Getting ideas?

  1. To thread the drawstrings into pyjamas or gym shorts, a pen is an excellent tool!

  1. I am sure you would love this one. A pen can actually become the mediator when you really wish to talk to someone, or break the ice with someone you like in the office or in your college class. Just go up-front and ask cutely “Hey, can I borrow your pen for today. I hear it writes very nicely, and I want to get lucky today”! There you go! The pen cracked up a friendship for you 😀

  1. And this one; all girls with long hair would know. If you want to put your hair up in a bun, but no hair-band or any kind of barrette is handy…twist hair into a bun and insert stick pen through the bun, while making sure to weave pen through hair keeping it close to the head. It works perfect for a quick remedy, until you can get to a hair accessory.

  1. You would thank me for this one, I bet! When you really want to bring a smile to someone and make your own day, gift a set of pens coupled with a scribbling pad to an underprivileged in the nearest slum or on the pavement, and you’ll get the picture of how blessed you are!

Oh yes, the few nutty ones like, using a pen to rip open the plastic chip bags, or to open the paper envelopes, or inserting a pen into the third hole, while plugging a two pin gadget into a three pin socket, these are just the usual ones, I guess, you all might know.

But this one… Is epic!

  1. When Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were on the moon, Aldrin accidentally broke the circuit breakerthat would arm the engine breaker for lift off from the moon. This could have left themstranded on the moon. Fortunately a felt-tip pen came in handy to activate the switch. So, in a nutshell, a Pen saved the Apollo 11 mission.

Did you know that?

Therefore, dudes and duddettes, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that…

A PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN A SWORD! Provided you know how and when to use it, apart from writing!
