Just in: Tejpal has got interim relief by Goa session court till tomorrow. The bail plea will continue tomorrow after which his fate will be decided. Till then he will be kept under detention by Goa police.

The Tehelka sexual harassment case accused Tarun Tejpal has been detained by the Goa police. He has been taken to the Goa sessions court where the bail plea hearing is on. He was detained immediately on his arrival at the Dabolim airport in Panjim.
The Goa police acted on the 2.30 pm deadline given by court for his appearance in the case which expired three hours ago.
When Tehelka editor-in-chief landed in Goa, all the exit gates were closed for safety and security.
Earlier in the afternoon, lawyers of Tejpal attended the court and presented defence in the case. They argued that the case was politically influenced to which the judge asked, “I am concerned with the crime, not the political remarks that were made after. Did the young girl make the political remarks?” according to NDTV.
The victim had issued an statement earlier in the day refuting all the allegations of political colour to the case.
Tejpal took a flight in the afternoon from Delhi airport to Goa. In a brief interaction with media he had said, “I am not running. I am willingly going to Goa to join investigations,” he said.
Tejpal was accompanied by family members and Delhi police team.
