Different Struggles You Face When You Can’t #WorkAsATeam

There are events in your late teens and most of the adult life that require you to work as a team.

In college, you are part of a subject’s assignment, whereas in office, all employees come together and work towards achieving a common goal.

But what if working in a team is not your forte?

Below I focus on some of the struggles that you might face when you hate #workingonagroupproject.

First and foremost, your reaction to being told about working in a team is disappointment. You develop an inner fit of rage when you realise that you do not like your team members.

The time taken in choosing the team leader stretches for quite a bit. Even if you are quiet during the session, your inner voice goes ‘Me! Choose me!’ And when they choose you the leader, you do not say no. That is your proudest moment and you become the lone wolf.

Being handed leadership means you have the liberty of shooting down ideas that you do not think go along with the project at hand. You feel no regret at rejecting an opinion.

When ideas coincide and you see no end to the discussion, you feel like finding a room to lock yourself in so that you do not hit someone.

You do not like giving some other member the authority. Nevertheless, when situations demand you to do so, you end up making a speech that they won’t forget.

No one is allowed to change pointers on the PowerPoint presentation. If someone does, it’s their funeral.

When someone has not researched and prepared their share of the presentation, your temper soars high. As the leader, the project means a lot to you.

When the blame game begins, you make it a point to put forward your thoughts and make it clear that you are not at fault in any way.

 

Nonetheless, everyone sorts out their issues and says their ‘good job’. Once you part ways, this is how you react from the next day.
