If You Say These Things To Your Boss You May Lose Your Job !

Things not to say to boss – According to great legends and successful entrepreneurs, honesty is the key to success and you need, to be honest, to climb the stairs of success.

It is important, to be honest, but NOT ALWAYS.

Each one of us loves to speak our heart out to people but there are few people we would refrain from speaking everything. One among such people is your boss.

There are the obvious things not to say to boss.

Things not to say to boss –

  1. “I can’t.”

A person is blacklisted as soon as he carries an “I can’t” attitude with himself. Using “I can’t” in your conversations shows the  lack of confidence, and unwillingness from your side.

  1. “No”

You are expected to be polite in office culture and refrain from saying “No” to your subordinates and boss. If you want to say No, you can use some alternative words and explain it in a positive way. Carrying a negative attitude is not allowed.

  1. “How do I benefit from this?”

Sometimes you may be just told to help your colleagues and friends. However, at such time you should not end up showing the greedy side of your personality against helping people. Helping people can help you to earn points in terms of behavior and not money.

  1. “Well, I did my best.”

If you know someone is pointing out your mistakes, you should avoid telling, “Well, I did my best.” Instead, you can just give a better response by saying, you will get it better the next time.

  1. “I’ll leave.”

This is a cop-out and unprofessional. You are not supposed to threaten the company even if the company needs you. Remember, more than 50 percent of people are unemployed and anyone among them can accommodate your seat in a polite way. Saying,  “I’ll leave” will surely put you at risk.

  1. “I’ve tried that before”

Boss are intolerant towards laziness and hence you must avoid saying, “I’ve tried that before” Your boss may have an alternative in his mind but it is always better to appreciate his suggestion and give it a try once more.

  1. “At my last job we did it this way.”

Name me a manager who is really interested in looking into your profile of the last job? No one will do that! You should have a challenging attitude and accept all the things in a positive way so that you can give out better results.

  1. “I don’t have a solution.”

Always remember, “Leaders talk about solutions; followers talk about the problems.” You should not tell the boss about your problems, instead, try to come up with innovative solutions and techniques.

  1. “That’s impossible.”

Boss don’t expect you to show your negative and impossible side in the office. However, if you think that the target is impossible to achieve, explain the hurdles behind it and ask for the input.

  1. “He’s a jerk.”

The most important point to consider is respect your boss and also your senior and subordinate. Calling someone else as jerk can create a very bad impression on your boss and it reflects the negative side of your personality.

These are the things not to say to boss – Yes, avoid saying this even if he is your FRIEND. God bless you if you are dealing with a bull-headed boss!
