Where are these Bollywood queens?

They reined the silver screen in 80s and 90s. They set the box office on fire and now they are missing!

They reined the silver screen in 80s and 90s. They set the box office on fire and people flooded cinema halls to get a glimpse of their pretty faces; even if they came for two songs and three dialogues. If facebook was a yardstick to measure their popularity level in those times then they would have surpassed that of Kareenas and Katrinas.

Cut to late 90s and we have no clue whatsoever about where these quintessential Bollywood beauties have gone missing. While some got married and settled for an alternative career, others could not come in terms with reality of their short-lived career. Here’s listing down the actresses who went missing after creating a stir in the Hindi Film Industry.

 1

Meenakshi Sheshadri- Crowned as Miss India at the age of 17, Meenakshi Sheshadri had a short (13years) yet quite memorable career in Bollywood. With super-hit movies like Hero, Shehensha and Meri Jung, and award winning performances like Damini and Ghatak, Meenakshi parted ways with tinsel town to raise her kids.

 Mamta

Mamta Kulkarni- Bold and beautiful Mamta Kulkarni, who debuted with Saif Ali Khan became an instant threat to her contemporaries as she bagged almost all the big projects in the industry. Her career looked promising as she even got to work with all the three Khans (which was rare in those times) but her career had a major fall when industry got to know about her alleged links with the drug dealer Vicky Goswami. Farha – Leading lady of actors like Anil Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Govinda and Jacky Shroff in the 80s, Farha became a lucky mascot of most of the directors of that time. She got married and later divorced Dara Singh’s son, Vindu Dara Singh and has ever since stayed away from media and Page 3.

Anu

Anu Aggarwal- Anu Aggarwal, who covered her face under Rahul Roy’s jacket in the superhit film Ashiqui, became the most loveable girl next door for the guys across the country. Few films later she met with a fatal car crash that left her face paralyzed and wiped her memory. When we last heard, she was teaching yoga in an Ashram in rural Bihar.
