- Debut film
Most people assume that Farah Khan’s ‘Om Shanti Om’,in which she was paired opposite Shah Rukh Khan, was her first film. While that washer first Hindi film, she had made her acting debut a year earlier in a Kannada film called ‘Aishwarya’.
- Voice was dubbed in ‘Om Shanti Om’
Though Deepika can comfortably speak Hindi now, her diction was not that great when she signed ‘Om Shanti Om’. As a result, her lines in the film were dubbed by dubbing artist Mona Ghosh Shetty.
- Holds a Danish passport
Deepika was born in Copenhagen, Denmark and holds a Danish passport. India does not allow its residents to assume dual citizenship, so officially she is a citizen of Denmark and because of that she cannot vote.
- Not the first choice for ‘Goliyon Ki Raas-Leela Ram Leela’
