Our beloved Bollywood stars are known to work round the clock, but as the December chills set in they can’t wait to slip into their party shoes, let down their hair, and have a rollicking time.

In fact, New Year’s Eve is one big event for Bollywood celebrities. It is the most awaited time of the year when the busy B-townies finally take their well-deserved break and engage in some partying. Be it in India or some exotic locations across the globe, with family or with friends, every Bollywoodian is known to get in the party mode this season.

Like the Baadshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan may be busy throughout the year, but on New Year’s one is sure to find him carousing with family and friends, either at his palatial home in Mumbai – Mannat or at his luxurious pad in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. With the star’s next big film – Dilwale releasing on the 18th of this month, looks like the New Year Party scene at the Khan household will begin much earlier than usual.

And talking about the Khan soirée in Dubai, one can’t help but notice that in the past few years Dubai has become the most happening and preferred party destination for the Bollywood denizens.

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, the likes of Hrithik Roshan, Sridevi, Anil Kapoor with daughter Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor among others like to usher their new year in the Palm City. Some often witness the New Year’s fireworks from a lavish Yacht, or from the tallest building of the world, the merriment opportunities that Dubai offer are varied and most celebs are lured by its exclusivity.

Salman Khan too is an ardent fan of the Arab Emirates and often visits Dubai to party with his local friends, so the possibility of Bhaijaan heading to UAE to bring in 2016 is quite high. However, one also knows his fondness for partying at his Panvel Farmhouse, where he often indulges in some hardcore partying with his gang of boys. So if it’s not a trip abroad, the Sultan star is likely to be seen dancing at his farmhouse along with his industry amigos and family.

The revelries at Salman’s farmhouse are quite grand with booze flowing and a line of mouthwatering delicacies served for the guests. Away from the city and the prying eyes of shutterbugs, celebs really love heading for Sallu’s parties, where they can let down their hair and unwind.

It is very rare to spot a Bollywoodian on New Year’s Eve in the city. It is the ideal time for them to take an international holiday and bring in their New Year with pizzazz.

Like the royal couple of B-town Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan, every year head to the scenic Gstaad in Switzerland to welcome the New Year in the snow capped mountain region away from the chaos of Mumbai.

Likewise, for Bebo’s soon-to-be sister-in-law – Katrina Kaif, the year-end celebrations begin in London. Katrina likes to ring in the New Year with her family, which is settled there, so the Phantom girl along with her Tamasha boy – Ranbir Kapoor in tow usually heads to London. The couple is known to go club hopping and indulge in some fun time at some of the most popular party hotspots in London. Often best friend, director Ayan Mukerji accompanies the couple.

Other London regular visitors during the 31st eve are Shilpa Shetty Kundra and husband Raj Kundra and Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder.

For the Khiladi of B-town Akshay Kumar, December end spells double celebrations as it is wifey Twinkle Khanna’s birthday on 29th December. So the Kumar household often packs their bags and jet off to some exotic location not only to celebrate Mrs. Funnybones birthday but also bring in the New Year with big fanfare.

Similarly, for the leggy lass Deepika Padukone, the New Year’s partying extends until 5th of January, which happens to be her birthday. And being a beach babe, the gorgeous gal likes to bring in the new year as well as her birthday at some fancy beach location.

Talking about beaches, Goa is a popular year-end destination where most celebs like to head for partying. One will find Priyanka Chopra with her family at her holiday home, dancing at her lavish beach party. Goa also happens to be Bipasha Basu’s favorite New Year bash destination.

Another party animal Karan Johar either joins any of his industry friends on their luxurious holidays abroad or throws a house party for the ones who are stuck back in the city cause of work commitments.

But house parties are very rare on new year’s eve in B-town. Even the queen of house parties —Ekta Kapoor takes a break from her house parties and jets off to some happening location with her bunch of friends to celebrate New Year.
