Gogobot

Recently, Gogobot launched a full redesign of the app, making it look more visually attractive and easy to use for consumers. Recommendations include dining, lodging and entertainment. Gogobot group travelers known as ‘Tribes’ recommend names of best restaurants and best activates available. The idea behind Tribes is to offer best possible information based on what travelers with similar taste have liked and enjoyed, according to Travis Katz, founder of Gogobot. For example, if you go on a trip often with your family, the app will recommend places that are kid-friendly. This app is available both for Apple and Android.

Locish

Alexis Christodoulou and Grigoris Zontanos, co-founders of Locish, set out to solve the problem of a ‘one-size-fits-all’ way for Internet recommendation.

Most of the apps provide millions of reviews on a particular place. Looking for them is like searching for a needle in a haystack. Even when you do come across an interesting review, there are vague terms like ‘lovely place’, ‘great food’, ‘awesome drinks’, etc. make your choice even more difficult.

However, when you sign up for this app, it asks a few question related to your preferences. And based on that it gives you recommendations, instead of showing what is popular among the crowd. You can find this app on Apple and Android app store.

Nara

The tagline for this app is ‘stop searching, start finding,’ and the goal is to help you save time that you would have otherwise spent on search engines and review sites.

The Cambridge based firm, Nara Logics, aims to provide one of the best holiday planning apps. The app uses computational neuroscience to study the arrangement of the web and personalize data depending on traveler’s preferences.  Nara is available in the App Store and on Google Play.

Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List

Condé Nast Traveler has developed an app that is available on iOS this week and provides all the information about resorts, hotels, restaurants, cruises, and bars recommended in issues of the magazine, arranging them according to destination. Besides proving a guide for all travelers about posh hotels and resorts, the app also includes recommendations from VITs (Very Important Travelers). The options that look appealing can be saved in as in-app ‘stream’, which would remain private unless you publicly share.

JetPac City Guides

JetPac City Guides is developed on top of Instagram; and it helps to analyze millions of the photos to reveal more about the destination. The app was unveiled in December 2013 with two versions – which includes advanced search – released last year.

These are some of the top 5 apps for travel to help you plan your next holiday. There are many holiday planning apps available, but these will help you filter your search and make your job a lot easier.
