Rahul’s new low: Using granny Indira’s assassination for vote gain

As his rallies unfold, it will be no wonder if he falls in the same line as the corrupt and shrewd politicians of his party in the future.

When it comes to public speeches, Rahul Gandhi is as incompetent as Tushar Kapoor in Golmal. He tries to invoke emotions which are received with laughter.

Of late, he has been relying on emotional planks for gaining votes for his party.

Recently at a public rally in Churu, Rajasthan, he tried to strike an emotional chord by describing his grandmother and former prime minister of India Indira Gandhi’s assassination.

Calling BJP the communal force which killed his grandmother, he said, “They (communal forces) killed my grandmother, my father, and they may even kill me, but I don’t care… It takes years to get rid of anger but a minute to incite it.”

He even accused the party of “setting fire” across the country. “The BJP will set fire in Muzaffarnagar, in Gujarat, in Kashmir and other places,” he said.

Well, how much more could he stoop low?

First of all, there was no connection of BJP to the assassinations that he mentioned.

Second, mentioning the assassinations itself for (what is apparent) vote gain is the worst possible move he has made so far.

Third, what does he want to imply when he says that the communal forces may assassinate him as well? It will only be his twisted sense of politicking which can issue such a baseless statement.

Also, it seems that Rahul is forgetting his own statement. When in Muzaffarnagar, he along with his party, left no platform to blame Akhilesh Yadav and his government for the communal clashes the took place there. Although, involvement of BJP was cited and its members were arrested, the blame game is new.

It is crystal clear from his statements that he does not have a clear agenda in his mind and he lacks in addressing real issues. The way he has rampantly used the poor and hunger card, and later used his “maa bimar hai”, indicates to a new low in his career.

The kind of statements that he had been making (beehive, computer, Saudi Arabia, etc.), not only indicate towards his poor political acumen, it also shows that he is no different from those politicians who issue reckless statements.

He tried too hard to project himself as a clean leader by publicly distancing himself from his party and government’s work. He did not even spare prime minister from this quest of his.

As his rallies unfold, it will be no wonder if he falls in the same line as the corrupt and shrewd politicians of his party in the future.
