Recipe of the day: Mulled Wine

Red wine tempered with ginger, cardamom, clove, cinnamon and peppercorn to a steamy delight.

Prep time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves: Four

What you need:

750 ml red wine of your choice
1 star anise
½ inch ginger, crushed
2 cardamoms, crushed
2 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
2 peppercorns, crushed

How to make:

  1. In a non-reactive pan, empty the wine bottle and put on a medium flame.
  2. Add star anise, ginger, cardamom, clove, cinnamon and peppercorn. Simmer for a few minutes.
  3. Turn off the gas and let it stand for 15 minutes. Reheat until steamy and serve.

Tip: If you like your wine to be a little sweet, you can add some honey. If not hot, you can also enjoy it chilled.
