Intoxicating Carrots in Beer

What You Need:  1/2 kg Carrots (peeled and sliced),  1 tablespoon butter , 1 cup dark beer , 1 teaspoon parsley flakes, ¼ teaspoon salt ,  ¼ teaspoon pepper , 1 teaspoon sugar.

How To Cook: Place a medium-sized saucepan on fire and melt butter. Add carrots, dark beer and parsley flakes. Bring the contents to a boil and reduce flame. Cook the carrots, stirring frequently. Remove from the heat only when the carrots are tender, when pricked with a fork . Add in salt, pepper and sugar. Heat well and serve hot.  Just to add a touch of class,  garnish with frozen cherries or olives before serving.

Tangy Egg Fiesta

What You Need: 12 Hard Boiled Eggs, 4 cups vinegar,  salt to taste,  2 medium onions (chopped),  1/3 cup sugar, 1 tbsp pickling spices.

How To Cook: Put the boiled eggs in a big container. Take rest of the ingredients in a pan and simmer for around 5 min. Put the mixture on the eggs. Cover and keep it aside all night. These saucy and tangy eggs will fetch you oodles of appreciation and many “give-me-the-recipe-please” shouts! We can bet on that!

Frittering Sweet Bananas

What You Need:  4 firm Bananas (thickly sliced),  1½ tablespoon lemon juice,  2 tablespoon confectioners’ sugar, ½ cup baking mix, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 egg , ¼ cup milk, 3-4 tablespoon oil.

How To Cook: Take banana slices along with lemon juice and little confectioners’ sugar in a bowl and mix well. Combine together sugar, baking mix, egg, and milk in a separate bowl and blend into a smooth batter. Dip the banana slices into the batter. Heat oil in a pan and fry the banana pieces until brown in colour. Drain the excess oil. Sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar and serve. If you want to add your personal touch, just pour a few spoons of honey over them.
