We all know our Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the days of his hard campaign for Lok Sabha election. We all are familiar with his oratory power, attack on opposition, and his fairy tale story from an ordnary Tea seller to the Prime Minister of India.

Once, he was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India, we are more curious to know even smallest thing about him and his lifestyle.

Bhindi Kadhi With Rice:

This Bhindi Kadhi is a Gujrati delicacy. It is also called Dahi-Bhindi. Bhindi Kadhi is made with main ingradients Yougurt and Gram flour. Basically, it is a buttermilk stew cooked with Bhindi (Lady Fingers or Okra) and seasoned with mustered seeds, curry leaves, and cumin seeds. Usually served with chapati or rice.

Vaghareli Khichdi: 

Khichdi, made of rice and lentil, is very healthy and nutricious meal, belived to be a comfort food. Vaghareli Khichdi is also called masala khichdi, spiced up with few spices and the choice of vegetables. It’s light, satisfying, and so comforting that nothing can be matched with it. It is generally served with simple Kadhi.

White Khatta Dhokla:

Khatta Dhokla is a Gujrati Snack. It is prepared from fermented and steamed rice, close to south Indian dish Idli. It is light, spongy, bit sour, and pampered with mustard and cumin seeds and lightly spiced with sesame seeds, green chillies and and ginger. Generally served with sweet and hot chutney.

Khandavi:

Khadavi is popular, mouth watering, traditional, guilt free, authentic snack from Gujrat. Main ingradients are gram flour and curd. The khandavi rolls are tempered with cumin seeds, asafortida, sesame seeds, mustered seeds, curry leaves, cillies, and sprinked with coconut, corriader, cumin seeds. It is said that it is little difficult item to prepare. It requires lots of patience to be perfected.

Surti Undhiyu:

Surti Undhiyu, a traditional Gujrati Dish, is originated from the city of Surat in Gujrat. Undhiyu is made of mix of vegetables and fenugreek dumpling (called Muthia) cooked with traditional Indian herbs and spices. This dish is prepared in winter, as the vegetables used in are seasonal. Generally served with phulkas or Puris and some sweet dish Jalebi or shrikhand.

Sweet Mango Achaar:

Sweet Mango Pickle is very special of all the pickles. Under ripe and raw mangoes are diced into pieces and simmered in sugar syrup with certain spices such as garlic, cloves, bay leaf, peppercorn, fennel seeds, and red chilli poweder. It is kept in the sun for about 20 to 30 days to cook. Generally served with meal.

Shrikhand With Dry Fruits:

Shrikhand is very common, yogurt based sweet and sour desert dish, quite popular in Gujrati and Maharashtrian cusines. It is made of yougurt that is strained through cloth and then mixed with suger powder and saffron. It also can be mixed with different fruits and garnished with choice of dry fruits.
