Suresh Raina comes out in support of Ishant

Indian pacer Ishant Sharma has been receiving criticism left, right and center from the time the speedster has conceded 30 runs in an over against Australia in the 3rd ODI at Mohali on Saturday. It’s not only him but the Indian bowlers who are leaking runs for fun in the death overs. But team-mate Suresh Raina has backed his beleaguered team mate to make a strong come back and has hinted that Ishant could very well play the 4th ODI at Ranchi.

Talking to the press, Raina said, “I hope Ishant would be strong in his mindset and approach the match in a positive manner. He has really worked hard in the last two days. Our bowlers are doing well. Our think tank is strong and have good planning. Bowlers are training hard for last two days. The harder they work the better they would perform. Hopefully we will do really well against the Aussies tomorrow.”

This comes as a relief for the Delhi pacer who seems to be working hard at the nets with bowling coach Joe Dawes. Earlier, MS Dhoni had criticized his bowlers citing that they cannot be ‘spoon-fed’ due to their indiscipline bowling spree in the final overs. With the next match on Wednesday, Ishant and company have to deliver the goods otherwise face the brunt of ‘Captain Cool’.
