Cannes Film Festival is one of the most celebrated film events in the world. It brings together the best of global movies, celebrities and sizzling fashion quotient. Indian fashionistas have been giving us glimpses of their style and sartorial hits too. We take a look how Indian celebs fared on the red carpet. Read on:

Sonam Kapoor:
(
In black Elie Saab Couture)
Bollywood’s high priestess of fashion showed up in (not surprisingly) a black Elie Saab Couture gown that had the right amount of flare. The deep shade was offset by her dazzling red lips and silver earrings. We loved her faux bob and side-swept hair that makes the look stand out. The gown itself may be ‘meh’, but she sure wears it like a diva. Full marks for carrying off the minimalist look well.

Freida Pinto:
(
In Oscar de la Renta)
Freida never fails to live up to the red carpet buzz, thanks to her sartorial choices. As much as we love her lush-coloured Oscar de la Renta gown, we are not fans of her footwear. We are not quite feeling the matronly hair either. The colour looks great on her and her make-up is flawless, but we would have liked to see a statement piece to elevate the whole look. Not quite Cannes-worthy for us. What about you guys?

(In Michael Kors)
The dusky beauty was seen in a cream Michael Kors gown on the red carpet. The feathered gown is stunning, the side-swept hair is great, the make-up flawless…but something is still missing. Wonder if she played it too safe in this creation? It just doesn’t scream Cannes for us. For you?

Mallika Sherawat:
(In Emilio Pucci)
She was one of the first ones to be spotted on the red carpet. In a blue Emilio Pucci lace gown, she looked rather ‘meh’. It’s not something we want to see on the red carpet as many before her have walked down this path. Nevertheless, the colour looked nice on her and her pair of blingy earrings were appropriate too.

Vishakha Singh:
(In MapxencaRS)
Bollywood starlet Vishakha Singh was also spotted at the Cannes Film Festival, looking pretty in a MapxencaRS sari. We are not fans of the peplum detail, but her otherwise simple look makes this sari work. We wish she had chosen a brighter color or better still, a better sari-gown creation.

Which actress looked stunning on the red carpet?

Are you as eagerly waiting for Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan’s appearance as we are?
