Is India A Better Option For A Job Or You Want To Go Abroad?

Welcome to the land of opportunities, our very own India!

One of the fastest developing countries, India is a changed story today.

Still the question remains, for the youth especially, what do you want to do?

Do you wish to remain in the country for better option for a job or growth or do you wish to go abroad?

There was this era in 1960’s and 70’s when everyone who could afford a foreign education or was able to travel abroad for employment opportunities, did so! The term ‘brain-drain’ was popularized in 1990’s and represented the talent of the country choosing America or Europe for better career growth. These highly talented individuals after studying in the finest colleges of India like IITs and IIMs use to choose a company based outside India for more money, the freedom to work as per their terms and of course, a better quality of life.

However, things are no longer the same.

After more than 20 years of liberalization that started in 1991, India has reached a stage where an individual can make a difference in not only his life, but in the country’s growth too. One may argue that the quality of life is still not comparable to the life in the USA or Europe, but we are reaching there, at our own pace, on our own terms. Now is the time when one has all the possible opportunities to show his talent, use his brain to do something path-breaking and make as much money as his counterpart in any part of the developed world!

The economy of America might be massively huge, but it is in a saturation mode. Europe is not growing as fast as it is supposed to and is heavily dependent on exports to countries like India and China for their survival. China’s growth has slowed down and recent developments in its market showcase deep-rooted troubles that will hamper its further development.

India on the other hand is full of opportunities. Our inadequate infrastructure requires trillions of dollars and huge manpower investment that is now gaining interest both from the government as well as the private sector. The current government is focusing on Make in India that will soon give a huge boost to the manufacturing sector. Majority of Indians still don’t have access to basic amenities of life and the process of providing the same to every citizen involves innovative solutions and out of the box thinking. The best part is that you’re paid handsome amounts if you’re able to provide such solutions! After the population saturation in the western world, everyone is looking at a young emerging India who wants to rise up the ladder of success and prosperity. With a healthy democracy and potential boom in the market, India is well-poised for a double digit growth.

In case you have got the right education and right skill sets, India will prove to be a place to fulfil your dreams, while being around your near and dear ones and living in the comforts of your own home. That’s the reason there is a new term coined for this decade: reverse brain-drain! This means more and more highly educated and talented people who had gone abroad for greener pastures are now returning to work in new start-ups or open their own ventures. The possibilities are huge!

You want to toil hard in your own country and make a difference while becoming excessively rich or you want to work as a second class citizen in a first world country just for a bit of few extra bucks?

The decision is yours! Make it sensibly!

Good luck!
